The gear

Have you seen those social media posts where people cleverly arrange all their gear into an interesting arrangement before they put it all in their bag? Here's a random one that I found on the Internet:

As Peter was packing at home, I thought it would be really interesting to do that with his gear. There's so much equipment, so much specialized gear which he's been refining over the years and especially rigorously in the past few months. But whenever I looked into the room where he was packing, it literally took up the entire room. Far too ambitious to try to artfully display.

Still, in case anyone is interested, here's an unartfully displayed gathering of all his gear. (As an aside, when he checked into his hotel, they accidentally gave him the wrong room. They put him in a palatial 3-room suite. When they discovered the error and came to tell him, they saw his stuff everywhere, and just said "uh, nevermind." and let him keep the huge room.)

He repacked today before his flight to Lukla tomorrow. He'll leave 80% of this gear with the expedition team in Kathmandu who will transport it, via plane and yaks, to Everest Base Camp.
