Now the fun part can start

Peter update: He is doing great. Negative covid test. His gear got the seal of approval from one of the team Sherpas (who has summited Everest 15 times!) His only suggestion was to buy a backup pair of eye protection, which he did.

Now that he has the test results he is able to leave the hotel. He walked around a little today. Some foreigners, not many. He can't tell for sure but he thinks it is likely that they are all there to climb something. Not the hippy tourist crowd that is usually very visible in Kathmandu.

His next flight is booked for Saturday morning to Lukla. All the obstacles, potential obstacles, and hassles are falling away. I can see that he is physically far more relaxed. We've been talking a few times a day on video calls. Today he was in the courtyard restaurant at his hotel, eating a thali (a set meal that comes on a platter, very common in Nepal and India), there are few meals that he loves more than that.

Now the fun has started.
