Peter called!

How terrific to see a phone call come in from Nepal last night! Peter is doing great. He called me from the phone of his expedition leader so we only talked briefly. He says they are working on improving the Internet access at base camp. Hopefully, that means I'll hear from him more regularly. 

Today they did another gear check, making sure everything is set up and working properly. He's really pleased with how organized and attentive the expedition leaders have been.

He did describe the environment as a bit of  "sufferfest". Unforgiving. He said that even minor ailments have no opportunity to resolve. But he's doing great, sounds so enthusiastic.
