Thomas the Tank Engine
Every year we go to see Thomas the Tank Engine when he comes to the Mt. Hood Railroad. This year it was great that Grandpa was able to join us.
Of course, Sir Topham Hatt was there to be sure the engines were all behaving.
I love this event because they have so many things to do...bouncy house, petting zoo, run-through maze, Thomas movies, live music, gift shop, balloon toys. Oh, and of course some tracks and trains that you can play with...
...not that Soren has any interest in playing with trains...
...I mean, he has his own trains and tracks....
...so he wouldn't spend hours playing with just another set of Thomas tracks, right?
It was a bit tricky sometimes though because there were piles of kids all trying to play with the same trains and on the same tracks...and some might not be quite as skilled in the sharing department. Here, Soren is shouting "hey!" as another child tried to get in the way of his engine's progress.
The main focus of the event is the ride on the train pulled by Thomas himself.
It was a cozy ride through some beautiful scenery.
Soren was mesmerized.
He looked out the window the whole time, both to watch the passing sites...
...and in hopes of catching a glimpse of Thomas up ahead as he pulled us around the bend.
We're already looking forward to next year.
