Ropes are set to the summit

Today, the 12-person Sherpa rope-setting team secured the final ropes to the summit. That team is the first group to summit Everest in 2021. Kami Rita Sherpa, leading the team, now has summited Everest 25 times!

I spoke to Peter again last night. He and two other climbers have gone down to Lobuche at about 16,000 feet. They were considering going a bit lower, but hadn't yet decided. He said he had a delicious rendition of chicken cordon bleu and washed his hair. Clearly livin' the high life. He's in great spirits and feeling really good. Soren regularly uses Peter's Spotify account, occasionally getting booted when Peter logs in. It is funny to watch here in real-time, hearing Soren exclaim "Dad's on Spotify!"
