Back to Everest Base Camp

Today, they walked from Lobuche back to Everest Base Camp. 

I haven't spoken to Peter, but I can see from Eric's GPS that it took them about 5 hours to hike it, climbing just over 1,000 feet on the way.

Near Lobuche, there's a joint Nepali-Italian high altitude scientific research center.

Now it is simply a waiting game, watching for a weather window.

There were no new summits today, with the winds on top being too strong. The expectation is for those winds to last about a week, and then--fingers crossed--settling down again.
