25 May SummitClimb Dispatch: Trying To Reach Base Camp

Its early morning and we already left Camp 2. Last night it snowed and the wind blew. Now its 7:30 am and its foggy, breezy, snowing. Overall very bad weather. In C2 we finished a good breakfast, lots of hot drinks, filled our water bottles, got packed up and are now heading down to base camp. We called base camp on the radio. It is also snowing and foggy and windy in base camp. We are trying to have a very safe journey through the Khumbu Ice Fall. We are walking slowly, checking every rope, every ladder, every anchor, staying together and being very careful. We said thoughts and prayers of thanks to the mountain before our departure and are keeping our focus targeted on route-finding and technical safety and awareness of the conditions around us and helping each other and other teams, and we will keep you updated. Thank you very much!
