Does it need new batteries?
Last night Soren and I were out walking and we came across a grasshopper.
Soren: What’s that, mom?
Me: That is a grasshopper. Grasshoppers like to hop, hop, hop.
Soren: What is he doing?
Me: He’s taking a break.
Soren: Oh, does he need new batteries?
Then later I told him that we are going to Slovakia for vacation (we are!) He seemed to think about it for a few minutes and then went over to look through our photo album. After a few minutes of flipping through pictures of our previous vacations he had this thoughtful, puzzled look and said “Mama? I don’t know Slovakia.” I guess he’d been trying to find a picture of it and thought it should be in with the pictures of our previous vacations!
