Southern Oregon vacation
Goodness! Where has the time gone? Suddenly I blink and find out that it has been nearly 3 weeks since we last posted. So sorry to all the loyal Soren fans just dying for that last word on his latest activities!
Last week we went down to Southern Oregon. We stayed in a yurt which we're finding is the perfect experience in camping with a toddler. Long gone are the days of 10-mile hike to set up camp in a remote, pristine location...and now we're enjoying the days of walking up to our yurt, turning on the lights (and heat if needed!) and considering ourselves to be camping!
Once we got down to our destination in Southern Oregon, we realized we were right around the corner from the Redwoods and northern California Coast. Fantastic!
We've been reading a book about sand castles lately and as soon as Soren saw the beach he wanted to build one. Unfortunately, this wasn't a sand beach...but he still had lots of fun moving piles of the pebbly-sand.
After a lot of driving in the car, Peter said Soren needed a chance to run by the water. He got progressively braver with each wave and while we were smart enough to remove his shoes and socks immediately, we soon found out that we should have also removed his pants! By the time we wisened up, they were pretty well drenched.
And so, we did most of the site seeing in the Redwoods with Soren wearing his shirt and diaper!
