Going Movies!

We had a big weekend - Soren peed and pooped on the potty! I'm not sure who was prouder - him or me. LOL. But we were all just beaming with that accomplishment. We're not technically potty training, but if he asks to go on the potty we encourage it.

And, once again he just blew me away with some of the things he is saying. As you know, he's a total chatter box. But check these conversations out:

He picked up a small bag that is similar in shape to Peter's raquetball bag.
Soren: Bye. See you.
Me: Ok, bye. Where are you going?
Soren: Playing raquetball.
Me: Ok, have fun!
A few minutes pass and I go to see him dragging his bag so that he can go to the garage, presumably to get in the car. Then, a few minutes later he comes back to me:
Soren: Coming back!

Then, how about this one. He found a small square of paper on the floor.
Soren: Ticket!
Me: Great! You found a ticket!
Soren: Bye bye. (as he heads back to the door)
Me: Where are you going?
Soren: Going movies.
Me: Bye Bye.
He came back a few minutes later.
Me: Oh, did you watch the movie?
Soren: Mmmm (the only word this child will not say is "yes", he just says mmmm instead)
Me: And what was the movie about?
Soren: Camels!

It happens so often that he talks about things that we can't believe he has an understanding of. It usually turns out that somewhere in one of his books, there is a some sort of mention of it. In this case, he has a book that shows a grandpa taking a grandchild to the movies. But still, the extent of what this book says about the movies is "Grandpas hold your hand, and let you hold the tickets." I probably pointed out that they were at the movies. But still it feels like such a leap to me for him to find a ticket and pretend to be going to the movies himself.
